red hot summer

This red rose print is one of my absolute favorite motifs from Motel Rocks' (last summer's collection, unfortunately!) I don't get a whole lot of wear out of it because it requires some ironing, and ironing is not my area of expertise. Nevertheless, there's something about a red hot floral that somehow seems more appropriate for the scorching temperatures of summer rather than the soft pastels of a breezy spring. The light, white fabric is great for beating the heat too. Yes, September is drawing to a close, but it's still over 90 degrees here every day...

Sonia dress, Motel Rocks. Fringed suede cross-body, Miss Selfridge. Skinny leather belt, Rose Bowl Flea Market. Straw hat, Forever 21. Leather sandals, Steve Madden.

  1. I love red bags. I have one from Kate Spade and it always adds such a fun pop of color!

  7. Pretteh *_* It's so hot in LA, I'm jealous :) And I feel your pain, clothes that need ironing are the worst! I'm following you via GFC, can't wait for your next post! I probably will secretly hate you for that beautiful weather though haha. Especially when the temps drop below zero here in Moscow.
